Yet sometimes, it'll just work flawlessly - mostly late at night. I've found that toggling the killswitch from AUTO to OFF then back to AUTO over about 15 seconds causes traffic to resume, then the same thing happens. I've used the torrent magnet link from to confirm this. I know there's no IP leaks when running uTorrent. So that is obviously just another red herring. Also, the computer that works fine doesn't connect to a port forward supporting server. I've NEVER before used port forwarding in PIA and the servers are all too far from me to make this a practical suggestion. I've been told I need to use a server with port forwarding. The PIA app never gives any notification that the connection to the server has been lost, which it would if it had been, and I've explained this to PIA support. The moment I exit uTorrent, and I mean within seconds, everything goes back to normal. Then the entire internet connection steadily declines on that computer then is completely blocked - no program can access the internet. So everything works fine until I open uTorrent. I use uTorrent 3.5.5 on two different computers both running Windows 7 Ultimate, both on ethernet exclusively, connected to the same managed hub, with an ASUS AC68U gateway to fibre and only one computer has the problem - it's also the one that was 'upgraded' to v1.5 then v1.5.1 of the PIA app - the one that was left on v1.4 has no issues, ever. I've been in touch with PIA support and I'm just getting the run-around. If I let it go on its own, the internet eventually comes back on, but will continue to die intermittently.Īnyone have any ideas on what could be causing the problem and how to fix it? If I close qbittorrent and disconnect from PIA, the internet immediately comes back on. It's not 100% repeatable because it will often work fine, but lately the issue seems to be worse. I've also run some tests and it doesn't kill the internet for other computers on my router when this happens. Sometimes, it will die when it's retrieving the metadata from the magnet link before even starting the torrent. I use qbittorrent primarily, but I also tested transmission and the same issue occurred. I can use PIA fine for browsing the internet, but if I start up a torrent client, it will often completely kill the internet connection. This has been going on for months, but it's particularly bad lately. I'm having a weird problem where downloading torrents are completely killing my internet connection.
